When I was a senior in high school, I used to have a recurring dream that my sister and I would steal my mother's car and run off to some urban area....St. Louis, Pittsburgh, nothing overly glamorous...but it was elsewhere.  I've always had a bit of wanderlust with me, especially when I've been stuck one place for too long.

Sunday I was supposed to head over to Iowa City for the Writer's Festival.  Of course, as the city is underwater, that has been canceled.  So I decided, rather than spend another week pacing my apartment like a caged animal, to travel somewhere else.  I'm currently in the Ozarks in Missouri.  How do I know this?  Huge sign that says "Ozarkland" right outside the window.  That would explain why the road was going up and down so much.  :P  I'm on my way to Pueblo, Colorado to visit my friend Danielle.  Was a bit tricky coming up with a route that totally bypassed Iowa.

Anyway, I hope to be in Colorado by Sunday afternoon, but I plan on doing some geeky touristy things on the way so watch this space!
